Holidays in Other Countries

How and why English was used on these sites? What did you learn from them?

The websites used English to explain to non-English speakers some cultural facts of holidays in their countries. They use English because it is one of the most spoken language in the world; and, according to them, its easier for tourist or people who visit their website to understand.

In my experience, I have learned some facts from websites. For example that native English speakers are very concerned about their customs and traditions. Some of them usually care about preserving their customs and tradition , and also show it (because they are proud of it). I think, while they show their tradition, they enjoy it. I think its important to show happiness because it may intricate other people and also create curiosity about their traditions.

PERSONAL CULTURE

We can consider as cultural expression hobbies, music, sport, etc. Those forms could also be divided in subcultures: people who like similar interest about something.

In my case, I love music. I think music it is a way to express our feelings. We can notice some aspects of someone personality and behaivor.

Barranquilla has been chosen as American Capital of Culture 2013.
I think the reason is because of the sence of belong of the locals, their effort and perseverance.

Thanksfully, this cultural event give economic rewards, improve turism and give a sence of colective happyness in the city.
